Raising boys is certainly my calling. I have to thank my brothers for teaching me the ropes and, for the most part, preparing me to handle the daily ins and outs of boys.
Landon "It is about three five nine thirty."
Grayson likes to drink the bathwater. Don't judge, you're not allowed to duct tape children's mouths shut while they take a bath.
Landon "Gross Grayson. You just drank booty water." Little does he know
Landon "Mom, I can feel your waist and it is getting bigger and bigger." Guess I will go to the gym.
Grayson likes to help put on his lotion and then licks it off of his hands. I let him, thinking he will hate the taste and the natural consequence will work. WRONG! He just asks "mor peese"
Landon says after slamming his face into the corner of the table. "Mom come quick. Look what I did to the table. I left a tiny dent in it. I just earned 50,000 man points." Mommy thinks, "You actually earned the points from the shiner you just gave yourself, but if you think it is because you dented the table, we'll go with it."
Grayson likes to eat the chalk. He then cries and attempts to spit it out and looks at me with an angry expression as if to say "Why is this gross chalk in my mouth?" I look at him the the expression that says "Someday you'll catch on."
Landon "When I grow up I am going to be a rock star, secret spy, police man."
Grayson likes to eat crayons. It is a good look on him. Very colorful smile.
Landon watched "The Little Rascals" and especially liked Uh-hu. He says to me the other night as I am tucking him into bed. "Hey Uh-hu." Mommy replies, "Uh-hu." "Let's read one more story before bedtime?" Mommy says "Uh-hu." Then I realize I have just been outsmarted by a 4 year old.
Grayson loves to brush his teeth and then drag around the toothbrush to clean the rest of the house too. He now owns two toothbrushes.
Landon says the other night, "Mom, loosers suck." Mommy "What did you just say?" L, "I said loosers suck." Mommy "Where did you hear that?" L, "The Little Rascals." Mommy thinks that was probably not a good movie to show her own little rascal.
Grayson likes to take out the baby wipes, wipe the top of the changing table, and then put the baby wipe in his mouth. He smiles like he is so proud. I am starting to think his taste buds are a little off.
AND for the best line lately.... "Hey mom. I peed in your shower when the water wasn't on."
Mommy thinks "That is the funniest thing I have heard in a long time and where is my bleach?"

Yosemite!
I don't want to take a bath:(

Bath time and a BEAR!

Landon put on his helmet and went rock climbing. He he:)

Go Girls!

Yosemite was our first family trip this summer and we are hoping to make it a reoccurring one. (Reservations are next to impossible, Thank you Gina's Aunty El). The boys were great and Yosemite was beautiful. We had a great time with the Woods family, but especially loved watching the boys play together. Boys and dirt always equals a good time. Grayson loved the bike rides and made sure to say hello to everyone we passed in Yosemite. I called him the ambassador. Landon was a great little hiker and expert marshmallow eater. Here are some pictures from the trip. I will add more from my camera later. The bear is real, though hard to believe. Curt got some great shots of the wildlife. Grayson was excited to see the bear and deer too, but called everything a "puppy!" So fun!!!!

Landon Lines: Part 2
Landon looking at Mommy "Who ate my sandwich?"
Mommy: "I didn't eat your sandwich. Oh, Giggs must have eaten it."
Landon: "That little busted dog"
Landon and I were laying in his bed and I was telling him about how he was as a baby. I mentioned how he used to suck on his binki and then fall asleep. He looked at my sadly and said, "I miss my binki."
I started to laugh at the fact that I stupidly brought up the binki tragedy of 2010 again and that he still missed it. He looked at me seriously and said, "Go ahead. Laugh it up fuzzball." Clearly we have watched a lot of Star Wars.
Landon, the future Rock Star.

Happy 1st Birthday Baby!
Grayson Conner is officially one. We had to postpone his birthday party because the boys and I got sick. We celebrated with a candle and a bowl of mac and cheese. He had been practicing blowing out his candle all week. It was too cute. At one he crawls, pulls himself up, and scoots along the furniture. He is also becoming quite the talker. He says Mama, Dada, Giggs, dude, this, that, I that ( for I want that), Oooooo, bye bye, hi, juice, and ball. He also loves to play ball. He throws them, bounces them, catches them, and tries to kick them. He adds so much to our little family and is falling right in line as a Holmes boy. We are truly blessed. Happy birthday sweet baby Gray! We love you.

Gotta Love the Snow!

We headed up the hill to enjoy the snow and celebrate Cameron's birthday on Sunday. Curtis is on a short break from soccer, so we are taking full advantage of our free weekends. Landon loved the snow as he did last year, and has quite an arm on him. He can throw a mean snowball. He also likes to sled head first. Grayson loved the snow as well and even went sleding. (Not head first yet). The look on his face when we let him get in the snow is soooooo his Daddy. I could hardly take the mini sunglasses. It was a great day. The boys were great and slept like babies on the way home, just like their mommy.

Landon Lines...
Here are a few of my favorite Landon lines. He cracks us up with the things he says. Here are the recent top five...
5. "Mom, after preschool I'm gonna go to High School."
4. as he is shutting the bathroom door "Mom. Don't come in here. It's my property."
3. L - "Are we going in your car or Daddy's car?"
Mommy - "We are going in my car."
L - Does a mad huffy breath. "Mom, I don't want to go in your car. You have girl music. I want boy music."
Mommy - giggling "What is boy music?"
L - "Smashing Pumpkins"
Mommy - in my head thinking "Smashing what? I need to talk to Daddy."
4. "Mommy was I in your tummy when you were a little girl or a big girl?"
Mommy - "You were in my tummy when I was a big girl." ( If only you knew)
L - "Don't worry Mommy. I will always be your baby, but soon I am gonna go to College."
Mommy's look goes from thinking how sweet to how sad.
L - "It's ok mommy. Don't worry."
5. Let me set the scene for this last one. Grayson in teething and has been fussy most of the weekend. He is crying in the excersauser. I am desperatly trying to rip (you know what I want to say here) Christmas lights off the tree in an effort to finally get it out of my house before the end of January. I have sap stuck to both arms and some in my hair. I am not tall enough to get the last strand off, even when I am standing on a dump truck step stool and now am more pissed than 2 seconds ago. Landon is running around the house in a Darth Vader mask and playing with his new blow up light saber. I am thinking, "When is Curtis going to be home? I need someone tall and more arms." He has been gone all weekend and I am tired. We are all in our Pajamas still. I turn to see Darth Vader staring at me. He looks me in the eye, cocks his arm back, and throws the lightsaber at my head as he yells "MEET YOUR DESTINY!"
Mommy - "Really?"
