Surf, Sun, and Siren

We spent a week in August at Dillon Beach, California with the Enns family, my parents (Grammie & Pop Pop), Uncle JJ and Uncle Matt. It was a great trip. The boys enjoyed body surfing, boogie boarding, and skim boarding. The kids had a blast playing in the sand ( or eating it in Landon's case). Amy and I are, as usual, always happy to be together. And my parents enjoyed having all their kids together. Landon was so content to dig in the sand. He would sit for hours digging, playing, eating, and then spitting the sand. He was particularly fond of the shovel. He loved trying to keep up with his cousins and improved his walking each day. We also discovered Landon has a slight obsession with trying to climb rocks. Take a close look a the background of the Enns family portrait. The small child trying to scale the rock is our little Landon. Any time we put him down he would head straight for the rocks. Needless to say, he came back from the beach with a few scrapes and splinters. He also came back from the beach with the nickname siren. This was due to his misunderstanding of the word vacation. We were all delightfully awakened at 6:00 in the morning by his loud little voice. He thought vacation meant you woke up extra early and yelled for all the people you know to wake up and come play. Good thing he is cute.

We are still here.

We have had a July of many firsts. Landon went to his first family reunion with Great Grandma Bert, Grandma Connie, Grand Dad Bob, and Grandpa Art. He took his first step. A big moment for the parents of two physical therapy assessments, pediatrician consultations, gross motor evaluations, and continued monitoring by the neurologist. And my personal favorite first is the corn on the cob. The pictures speak for themselves.

Swim Lessons

Curtis got to take Landon to swim lessons today. The two of them were precious to watch. They had the best time playing with the toys at the end of the lesson and squirting water into the air. I had the best time watching Curtis try to sing the nursery songs. Landon is lucky to have such a great daddy.

It is HOT!

With the weather so warm, anything with water is needed. We cooled off with Uncle Matt and the Kapicka's. The little boys had as much fun playing as the big boys did. Landon enjoyed the BBQ and Mommy was glad we ate outside.

Happy 4th of July

Landon participated in his first 4th of July parade. We decorated his stroller and walked with our friends in the East Sac parade. The boys had a great time. He liked waving his flag. We ended the parade with red, white, and blue, Popsicles. Landon had to be hosed off afterward.

Baby Bouncer

Landon discovered the baby bouncer in the hallway. We got it out for some friends to borrow, but he thought it was a new toy. After testing the comfort of the seat, he realized you can rock it back and forth on the hardwood floor and make it slide down the hall. New fun for hours. Maybe I'll wrap it up and give it back to him for a Christmas present.
